I am completely lost with this one, unable even to say which genus it belongs to. Any help would be much appreciated.
Taken in Bambury, Oxfordshire, in a garden. August 21rst 2010.

This looks like
Platycheirus albimanus, female.
Wait for Andre or Gerard to confirm but I think it is correct.
