2mm, Clitheroe UK, 11 October.

Liriomyza sp.? Is there an easy way to separate the genera that look like this? I have the specimen.

It is female Liriomyza, species reliably determine only after male terminalia.

Thanks Miloš. I wasn't expecting a species, but I would like to know how to distinguish Liriomyza from Phytomyza, for example. I guessed this one from the colour pattern, but there must be a better way :D

This are major characteristic external morphology:
genus Liriomyza = orbital setulae reclinate, costa ending at vein M1, in majority species outher crossvein present, stridulating mechanism in male present.
genus Phytomyza = orbital setulae proclinate, costa ending at vein R4+5 and outher crossvein lacking, stridulating mechanism in male lacking.
