I'm not sure, it has a long proboscis, might very well be a Bombyliidae (vicinity Conophorus ?)

Nikita, you went to Azerbaidjan ? How was is ?

Yes, Theo, that is very well possible.I looked at the antenna and did not think for a second it is not a Therevid, but indeed, now you mention "Conophorus". I leave it for the specialists. ;-)

1. Some Bobyliid in this case. Thank you.
2. It is material mounted from alcohol, from trip couple years ago.
Azerbaijan is, I guess, about the same as Kirgyzstan:
very few unditurbed nature remains, but more expensive, but much more safe. Briefly: it isn't the place I'd like to live in.

I'm glad Conophorus was a good suggestion.

As for Azerbaidjan, sure, you don't want to live there, but I saw great material from the border with Iran (Lenkoran) by Martin Hauser.
