Hello, I thought it could be E. digramma, but it was not recorded here (?)
Picture taken by Jordi Clavell (he gave his consent by mail, original pic http://www.biodiv...earch.html)
- in Lleida (North of Spain Pyrenees)
- Wet wood
- 23. july'10
He´s got another view, but shows nothing new
Any help is welcome, thanks

I want to be very carefull with the Empididae. You know, there are so many species and the faunae of the various parts of Europa can be so different. Yet, for sure this is not a digramma. E. digramma has 2 dark stripes on the mesonotum and has been recorded in Southwestern Europe. Since the mesonotum looks unstriped to me, I think it belongs to the E. lutea group.

Stupid mistake: digramma has not been recorded in Southwestern Europe of course.

I am not certain female Xanthempis can be identified with any degree of reliability from the Purenees, especially from pictures... Perhaps if there is an actual specimen coming with it?
