Thread subject: Diptera.info :: strange fly: Atherix ibis?

I found this rather big fly with a lenght of abaout 12mm the 21.05 in Echternach (Luxembourg) where it was sitting on an house wall.
I am not quite sure wether the proposal as Atherix ibis is sure or wether the fly might rather be spoken to as another Athericidae.
The corpulent body of the fly does quite unsettle me...

That's why I would be very grateful for a little help with the animal.

@jorgemotalmeida: About the photos: I wanted to ask about submitting them into the gallery anyway. Nice that I am even asked bevore I found the time to take the first step. :D
I've even got some more pics of the fly.

But what do I need to do to have them put in the gallery? What about the size an data name?
