Found on yarrow. 5mm long.
Looking through the gallery it looks most like Bibio ferruginatus. Can anyone tell me if this could be correct.

Just noticed - it isn't
Bibio - it's
Dilophus :)
Most
Bibio have a swollen fore tibia and
Dilophus have rings of thorns on the fore tibia.

So which one ? Wings don't look dark enough for Dilophus febrilis, and also seems too small.

Wing colouration is strongly sexual dimorph.|
Females Dilophus febrilis are easy from pic and males hopeless. Nevertheless, any Dilophus is febrilis untill proven otherwise, since it is so common and others are so local and/or rare.
