Hi,
can anyone suggest a species this small Tephritidae?
I take the photo on 2 July 2010 Kokkola Finland.

Looks like Terellia ruficauda in the Gallery...one for Valery tho'

R.I.P. She died unnamed.

Indeed, the so-called "dark form of ruficauda" is considered now as a good candidate to become a "good species".

It was Severin's bachelor project, but the paper remains unpublished, because the possible neotype specimen from Sweden gave no good result in PCR and sequencing of DNA. Now, he looks for other specimens from Sweden...
