Found this fly by a river ..Malaysia. About 5mm i think.

Tachinidae Blondeliini
Male, most likely Uromedina caudata

But there some other genera with species with a tail.
I would need a specimen for 100% identifications.

Very nice :) I was given some neotropical tachinids with tails and had guessed that they were just Uramya but they turned out to be Trichodura, so the situation is always more complicated that it first seems :D

Looks like someone tried pulling most of the extremities but did not succeed in breaking the specimen but rather just streched the extremities. :D
