Thread subject: Diptera.info :: Female Microdon -> Microdon mutabilis/ myrmicae

Hello,
which is the right one of the 4 species?
M. analis, devius, miki and mutabilis should exist in Germany.
Could it be a M. mutabilis?

Yes, mutabilis would be a good option, but there is another species (M. myrmicae) which cannot be separated from this species, even with the specimen in hand. It can only be identified in the pupal stage!
So for this one the correct name would be Microdon mutabilis/ myrmicae!
