Dear All,

Attached is an image of a Tachinid species that regularly emerges from pupae of the criocerine chrysomelid beetle Lema armata, a leaf feeder on Yams (Dioscorea spp.). The fly was reared in Benin, West Africa. I would be greateful for any assistance in the idenfication of this Diptera. Further illustrations of various body parts are following.

Thanks in advance

Georg

Dear Georg

This is an interesting find ! However, IDing Tachinids from pictures takes an awful lot of experience. And there is simply no one on the world with such an experience in Afrotropical Tachinidae.
I can ID the fly for you, but I do need the fly.
So send me an email if you can send the fly.
