Dear All,
Attached is an image of a Tachinid species that regularly emerges from pupae of the criocerine chrysomelid beetle
Lema armata, a leaf feeder on Yams (
Dioscorea spp.). The fly was reared in Benin, West Africa. I would be greateful for any assistance in the idenfication of this Diptera. Further illustrations of various body parts are following.
Thanks in advance

Dear Georg
This is an interesting find ! However, IDing Tachinids from pictures takes an awful lot of experience. And there is simply no one on the world with such an experience in Afrotropical Tachinidae.
I can ID the fly for you, but I do need the fly.
So send me an email if you can send the fly.
