Found at Scatsta Airport wandering round on the grit bins. VERY small...speck with legs :|

Hyadina sp., I think - H. scutellata (Haliday, 1839) but I am not sure.:|

scutellata, which has an entirely matt black scutellum, but it's very dark-legged for any of the British species, so a dark Scottish morph of '
humeralis' (we're not quite sure what British '
humeralis' is) or perhaps a species new to Britain or perhaps brand new. (We need a body!)

What's with the "Scottish" Tony? :@ Shetland please :).
Well looks like I'm going to have to murder a few more flies in the cause of science again. Looked on the web for images of
H.humeralis and came up with one from the man with the lucky hat..B)...Kahis
http://213.139.16...=humeralis, who obviously has a better camera/lense and skill :|. My fly is a lot darker in the leg department if it is the same species. I'm back at work next Monday when the weather will maybe be better for finding these flies again, it's cold, windy with heavy rain showers for the rest of this week...:|
