Hi,
Today I found several
Bibios - I like them very much. No. 1 is a red female that should be
B. hortulanus without doubt. But who is its male? No. 2 has a mixture of black hairs on the legs and blond hairs on the thorax and a rather inconspicious stigma. He looks quite elegant. No. 3 has more blond hairs, also on the legs. He looks stockier.
If I were the female, I would prefer long-legged No. 1, so I wonder if that is the right species. And who is No.2?
Many thanks for help (I suppose it's Theo's task),
Sundew
Here comes the female:

The first female and first male are both hortulanus,
the last male (2 pics) is something different, probably ferruginatus

So I put it right! My red female (all 3 pics show the same individual!) gets the first, long-legged male, which will make a really nice couple. Now I have to look for a female for the second male - hard work...
Many thanks, Theo.
