Thread subject: Diptera.info :: 3 Flies in one day, Are they all Archytas?

I went higher into the mountains a few days ago (August 16) and took photos of three nice Tachinid flies. When I got home I compared them with Internet photos, and it looks to me like maybe all three are in the same genus, Archytas.

I hope someone can confirm that, or correct me.

First, fly #1, she (?) is feeding on the wildflower Yarrow.

Here is fly number 2, she (?) was just resting on the ground surrounded by pebbles.

The third one was on low plants alongside the Blackwater River, a small stream.

Are all three of these flies females, or do male Tachinids just not have eyes set close together?

Well, they're all tachinids :D ... and they *look* similar to my specimens of Archytas here but I couldn't go much further than that :)
