Cyprus, April 2010, stream bed with pebbles and boulders.
Several males and females seen taking moisture from water's edge.

no hairs on eyes, broad frons, one eye band, so Tabanus leleani ?

The female made me think of unifasciatus, but the notopleurae are yellowish, strongly suggesting leleani.
The male has large facets and therefore cannot be unifasciatus.

So I agree: leleani
