Hello!
Found this female Tabanid on the dustbin at our house today (Ostwestfalen/Germany). It was medium sized, larger than a
Haematopota, but smaller than the bigger
Tabanus species. Is it
Tabanus bromius? Thanks!

Interesting to see all color variations of
T. bromius. In the gallery I've put brown, grey and black varietys, with thorax and abdomen in the same color. Now this one has got greyish thorax and brown abdomen ...

Right, the colouration is very variable.
However, it is never bluish grey.
Bluish grey = T. maculicornis
