Thread subject: Diptera.info :: Muscid from Holland

At Dutch forum it was suggested this Muscid could be Haematobosca cf.stimulans. However, as neither of us knows the species, we look for confirmation/coreection!

Data: 24 April, Amsterdamse bos (woodland near Amsterdam), clay soil, on tree trunk. Trees not in foliage, so still sunny inside wood. There is big cattle roaming this area.

Regrettably, this is the only angle I have photos from.

It may be Myospila meditabunda

This is a male Haematobosca stimulans. I can guess the elongate palpi under the antennae (+ typical pattern and poorly developped setae on scutum, bare eyes...).
