Hello!

If this was an Anthomyiid (I assume Leucophora, probably grisella?), it was the largest member of that family I've ever seen - about 8-10 mm. This afternoon at our house, northwest Germany.

Here is another indivual (same species?) from two days ago at the forest:

Hi Juergen,

I find them always a crime to do from photos...
Important for Leucophora is a good view on arista (longer haired or not)...if there are hairs on notopleural depression (area between the two notopleurals) ....prealar present or not....etc.
But this one looks hairy and hindfemur seems to have numerous long fine hairs....so i would say:
Leucophora obtusa (but not 100% sure)
And i will look at the other Leucophora on your own Forum!

Joke :)

Hello, Joke!

Many thanks! I am always happy, when I've got at least the family right when dealing with Anthomyiidae. And this one does not fit my "picture" of an Anthomyiid. It is really a rather big fly...
