Thread subject: Diptera.info :: Is this a wasp?

Taken today on a rhododendron leaf South Coast UK. 1.01mm long with a very odd appendage attached either to it's head or the front end of the abdomen.
Any ideas?

Very strange appendage! It seems a wasp for me.

I'm curious about yellow thing? Nectar? Egg? I think a t first time that was vestigial wing, but the dorsal wing doesn?t show nothing that resembles a vestigial wing. And antennas are more similar to hymenopters that flies, as well the eyes.

Yes, it is a wasp. This one belongs to the family platygastridae, genus Inostemma!:D
The horn on it's back is a receptacle for the ovipositor.

Very strange receptacle, indeed! It could be serve as a shelter of dorsal body too?

I heard somewhere about these family wasp a few hours ago!!! But where???
