I hope someone can tell me what this is! The eye certainly looks fly-like to me, but various other parts make me think of various things other than Diptera.

Attracted to lights, 10 August 2006, woodland, West Virginia USA. Length was 4 mm from the front of the eyes to the rear of the wings.

Not a fly but a Psocid!
So, insect order Psocoptera!

Thanks, Gerard! I had thought of Psocids but rejected that idea because (1) the eyes were so faceted and (2) the shape was too elongate. But since you ID'd it as Psocids I did find some similar on-line images. On the shape not being enlongate, I must have been thinking of the nymphs rather than the adults.

Thanks very much for the ID!
