Definitely a tachinid and as an educated guess I'd say Nemoraea pellucida ... but leave it for Theo to say if I am right :D

Nemoraea pellucide (male, the female is completely black !)

My guess was based on the fact that the only one I ever saw was dead on a tarmac road in the south of France - so it looked remarkably like the above photos!! :D

This was a doddle ... after Lecanipa and that Eliozeta :D
