Thanks...I thought it was. This is another migrant to Shetland. It is the only one of its kind I saw all last year. The previous year there were loads of them. They were first recorded in Shetland in 1993. Well at least one of them made the journey :)

It's not only my Syrphid ID's that are like sh:St . Geraldine :D:D:P I'm pretty much crap with other flies too. Having said that, I notice that you have avoided the Syrphus female I posted, too difficult for you, or are you losing your touch :P.
BTW How did you get on with the babysitter...was HE nice :P Was he good with FLIES ?
