hello flyforum,
Today I found some flies which looks a bit like Tachinidae sp.
I am certainly not sure if it is realy Tachinidae.
Several flies got some prey, what reminds me more to robberflies.(?).
what kind of prey they got, I can't see..
These flies got some characteristic parts;
tarsus dark(black), tibia red-braun, femur and several parts of the fly are grey like mud.
strong hairs on scutem, head, legs and on the abdomen(4th)
Typical black spots on abdomen 4th and 5th.
Do you know what kind of flies these are?
greeting, robert

Hi Robert.
It isn't Tachinidae.
I think that it is Anthmyiidae, in this family there is predatory genus(es) , but I don't remember which one. You had better change title to "predatoty Calyptrata" to get answer.
Nikita
