I have a couple of more difficult D. images.
This female should be D. venustus/hilaris. Unfortunately the face is not visible. Can someone id it to species?

Another shot of the same fly. Unfortunately these pics are quite bad. THis should be the male in the D. venustus/hilaris. If I understand correctly the males are very difficult to separate.

Pic two seems to show a darkened nose, so
D. venustus.

I like these flies and also the (little) similar
Eupeodes :)
@Andre: I followed your advise, so I became a member of the NEV now. There's a lot to learn for me;)

I think that also the first one is venustus as well, in females the hind margin of venustus is black, and it seems black here as well. Although I think the key in van V een is not uneqivocal, as it is not clear to me how I should understand that that tergite 2 is pale in hilaris.
Thx for the help.
