Thread subject: Diptera.info :: Hymenoptera (Tenthredinidae/Sawfly), but which one?

Hello,
I made this pictures of a Sawfly (I guess it's one) at 13.05.2008 in Germany close by a small lake.
The length of the insect was app. 8mm.
I guess the ID will be extremely difficult but maybe at least the familiy can be confirmed.

I was searching the web for pictures of Poodolerus but I couldn't find almost nothing.
Do you have any links or hints?

Or do you ID insects by books?

Hmm, I can't find pictures of Dolerus nigratus there, guess I'm too blind.
