This one was found dead at Scatsta Airport last year.

I'm pretty sure this is
Scathophaga calida. First, the male, with characteristic long pilosity on hind leg, and no strong bristles. I think the second is the female, acrostichal rows closer together than dc rows, and I can't see any distinct preapical pd on hind femur. It is very intersting to see this species, if we are not mistaken of course.

Mistaken...US, Never. ME, plenty of times.
More sure that my other one is
calida too. (The one with the dark frons.)

If you had a specimen some day, I would be glad to have one.

I'll see what I can do...:) Oh God, I'll get locked up for running round the garden waving a net :|
Here is another one sitting on a Tripod I used to use with my old camera...no image stabilisation :|
Why go into the garden with one camera, when you can go with two ;)
