First new thread of 2010. ;)
Well, it will begin with a very easy specimen to ID.
The first to answer right will win a special prize.
Soon I will give the species name. At least genus level is freakin' easy!
Enjoy.

Yes, Phil, you are right (both). Myopa. I will give a special prize for Phil which will be more.... psychodids! (and maybe with a very special one from Sagres if I managed to catch one.)
This is a very special Myopa. Later I will tell why. I'll be back soon with this.

Well, this is Myopa fasciata and confirmed by David Clements. New for Portugal and it was cited by Tolrá in SEA 45, 2010. The specimen he received was found earlier than 2009.
It seems that they like Ericaceae flowers. Found the Myopa fasciata at 1600 m in Serra da Estrela.
