Hello,
The area around Van Lake in East Turkey is severely affected by the dense swarms of chironomid midges every year from June to end of September.
Is it possible to identify at least a species group. Are the general colouration of the body and reddish three spots on the thorax characteristics?
Is it possible these swarms to control biologically? Any comments, information, or addresses of experienced scientists on this subject will be greatly appreciated.
