Thread subject: Diptera.info :: Tachinid fly?

Hello!
Also here in Ostwestfalen/Germany near a forest today I took these pictures of a 10mm-fly with remarkably long antennae. I assume it to be a tachinid. Is it possible to identify it with these photos? Thank you!

Hello Juergen,
You are right I think, this one is most probably a Tachinidae.
I don't know the genera very well, so we will have to wait for somebody who does!

It is a Tachinid and most likely, though not 100 % sure, Phryno vetula. This species can be expected to be quite common in Germany in spring in deciduous forests.
