I thought this looked like
Drosophila immigrans, but would appreciate a second opinion.

It wasn't until I downloaded the photos that I realised I'd captured the act of oviposition.
Drosophila eggs, being laid in a liquid substrate, are provided with filaments which clearly help with breathing. The egg can't be seen, but the filament is visible.

With the faint dark markings at the tips of the longitudinal veins I am confident that it is
D. immigrans.

It is very recognisable to me situation, to find interesting things afterwards, regarding photo at home.
