some frozen nights passed but when the sunshine comes the hoverflies comes too . . .

Location: Switzerland, 412 müM, still on my balcony
date: 28.10.2009
size: a bigger one, about 10 - 12 mm?

I think it is a new one for me :-) could it be Syrphus torvus?

Seems to have hairy eyes, so yes S.torvus (F) But I would wait for confirmation from one of the "Experts"....'cause I'm normally wrong..;)
