Thread subject: Diptera.info :: Conspicious Chironomid (28.09.09)

Hello!

I know, Chironomidae are normally nearly impossible to ID from a photo, but this male was small (2 mm) but strikingly coloured. It came to the light in our garden last monday (northwest Germany).

I think itīs Chironominae and Tanytarsini, but I canīt follow the keyīs items from here (combs of hind tibia); there are Tanytarus with that "pattern" but I canīt dischard other genera, sorry, they are lovely :)
