Syrphidae, as far as I know Eristalinus.

Eristalinus aeneus (Scopoli 1763)
Eristalinus megacephalus (Rossi 1794)
Eristalinus sepulchralis (Linnaeus 1758)
Eristalinus taeniops (Wiedemann 1818)

thank you.
In Portugal there are 4 Eristalinus spp. according to the fauna europaea.

Which of these are the most probable for this fly?

Possibly Eristalinus sepulchralis (Linnaeus 1758). It is not aeneus nor taeniops. I have no idea what megacephalus looks like.

This has very pale hind knees, compared to most sepulchralis I have seen. Also it doesn't look "crumpled" enough for that species, and the head looks to be too big. Is that a clue, I wonder?:)

Can you explain me what the major differences should be between the various species in the genus. I am also struggling with a few images like the one above. Also the web seems to have a lot of misidentified images within this genus.
