I have been trying to find the name of this Tachinidae. But I don't think this picture is good enough to find it.

30-07-2006, La Fontouret, Indre, France.

Another possibility would be Peleteria.

Yes, I'd say it looks more like Peleteria because the hairy eys of Linnaemya would normally be quite visible. A head shot would tell us more :)

As for Chris, my choice goes to Peleteria. It could thus be Peleteria varia. Only guessing...

Depends what weight the record has really ... if you just want a name on a photo then "Peleteria varia (probably)" would be fine ... but if you wanted to send the record in to a recording scheme then I would say - don't ;)

This is mainly because any name on a photo like this is really only a guess and that's fine just for your own personal use but it is way too inexact for real recording :)
