Found this little one this morning in the garden. Size was about 1mm.

It would be a real guess but a male Eulophidae?? Eulophinae? A hyperparasite of leafminers?

Hi,
Maybe this thread (with beautifull pics from Jorge!) can bring you answers?

Thanks Robbie D & HDumas for your responses.
All Jorges pics are beautiful...very artistic most of them. I don't do artistic...as long as I can get an ID I'm happy.
As for this fly, something about 1mm is very hard to be artistic with, it's hard enough trying to focus on it swaying around in the breeze. Jorges fly is 3 times the size of this and maybe a bit easier to focus on in Portugals nice climate. I am now going off to have a long sulk. :D
Regards Roger

Hello,

The form of antennas doesn't match with Jorge's specimen.
I had seen one like this one in 2006 (http://www.macdis...e-21-0.php)

Thanks Pierre
I don't think HDumas was saying it was the same as Jorge's specimen, but was referring to tnribes posting explaining that Jorge's one wasn't a Eulophid because it had too many funicle segments. I think my one is the same as the one you posted...hard to see though...very small..even magnified.
Regards Roger....still sulking :|.

HI HDumas
1.Very obvious to me.
2.Of course they are beautiful.
3.Personally I would have put that pic. in the Recycle Bin rather than post it on the web.
4. AND MOST IMPORTANTLY.....DON'T BELIEVE EVERY THING I WRITE....POINTS 1-3 TO START WITH :D:D

Regards Roger
