well I attached some photos of a dexiinae fly I've found in Apúlia beach - sand dunes. No petiole, hairy arista, deep gena, apparently no microtrichia in any veins, bare eyes, not sure if hairy the prosternum (it is difficult to see.. )...

Yes, it seems to be Estheria, somewhere in the petiolata-subgroup.
The topcell is open, however,.
so might be E. nigripes, a little-known species from North Africa and Southern Europe

I sent these photos to Tschorsnig before I upload here the photos and he told me a few moments ago that is probably a
female of Estheria decolor (Pandellé, 1896).

the left postpronum is yellow and the right one is grey, or is that just me ??

I see a trace of yellow on the right in the second lateral photo. The specimen is unevenly worn.

Well it was really very worn. So this should be settled as decolor or petiolata? Thanks.
