hi flyforum,

I found many of these kind of flies, walking on leaves with there wings up!!

What kind of flies are these?

place: Amsterdam forest
date: 18-08-2009

Anthomyiidae. Would be nice if someone could put a name on this, as this seems to be a common species in shady forests.

thank you for your reaction Nikita,

Searching in the index of Dutch species, I found one Emmesomyia sp. on the list;

Emmesomyia Malloch, 1917 [genus]
> Emmesomyia socia (Fallén, 1825) [species]

Is this Emmesomyia socia? or is it better to say it is Emmesomyia cf. socia?
Or perhabs Emmesomyia sp.?
