Hello,
I saw this larva in March, creeping around on a path between two meadows. I do not have much expierence with larvae, but it seemed rather big to me (about 25 mm long).

After a near miss in another forum (I thought something similar might be a strat larva) I would say this might be a tabanid larva. Theo or maybe Tom probably can confirm if I am right.

It might be a Tabanidae.
But then again, it might be something else (in Nematocera).
Consult Ton van Haaren.
