I will upload more photos... just stay with this one at 5:1 magnification. ;)
I must do stack photos one day! This is only one shot. But doing multi-shots shorts the lifetime of the shutter. :(


NOT Gonia... :S It measures aroun 7 mm - 8 mm. Medium fly.

Hi Jorge,

Not Gonia, but Frontina laeta. Easy to identify and quite common at the moment here in Finland as well! Typically on umbelliferean flowers. Parasitoid of Laothoe populi and Smerinthus ocellatus (Lep:Sphingidae)

Liekele, I totally forgot that I did find this fly before!!! :| 2007... it's been a while!

Thanks a lot Jaakko. Today I found a HUGE Nemoraea pellucida.. what a beast!! 15 mm :|
