A pinned female I have just photographed for the RDB of Ukraine. I'd appreciate any expert's opinion if this is really
S. gigas Eversmann.

unfortunately, asilid experts not come many times to DI. But if Grim comes here, maybe he can tell the species to you by sure. ;)
The name of this fly is creepy. :|

In fact, I have chkd it out with all the literature I had. Loox like it is
S. gigas, indeed. Upcurved radial veins, disc of scutellum w/o bristles, & finally, size...
