Thread subject: Diptera.info :: Two Mediterranean bombyliidae.. one mimics a bee.

Taken on 5th July 2006 in Silgueiros - VIseu - PORTUGAL with nIKON Coolpix 3100.


The first one mimics a bee: one example of mimicry. But which bee mimics? ;)

The second is another Bomyliidae. Anthrax sp. ??? Or another?

first one is Villa, a very difficult genus even with specimens. Second one in Hemipenthes velutina
