Still checking the Tachinids in case something new comes up, is this Phryxe?

Yes, it looks like Phryxe (hairy eyes, black palps, abdomenal median discals, orange-tipped scutellum & erect apical scutellars) and the wide gap between parafacials & facial-ridge bristles would suggest nemea :)

It's a very common species so you should pick it up in any countryside :)

Thanks Chris. I've seen - and photographed - quite a few of these recently, I think I'm beginning to recognize it!
