Lake side, Wetland Kerkini, Greece. Today - 05-July-2009 I looked through the gallery with no success. Sorry the bright sun has not improved the photo, or inclined the beast to be still, I had to shoot from a little distance.

Eyes converge but don't touch, and are hairy in lower half, so a male Eristalinus sepulchralis?

Male E. sepulchralis.
See the thoracic dorsum with greyish stripes. Tergites 2 and 3 shows a spot as well, not visible in aeneus...

Thanks Guys,
I have photos of E. aeneus so I knew it wasn't that despite the spotty eyes.
