Hi,
Yesterday I saw a long, slender insect, about 5 mm long, running up and down a leaf. It reminded me of small Hymenopters, especially as the colours black and red matched. The camera, however, then revealed a fly that flew off after the first shot. At the moment I have no idea where to put it. Can you see more from my only pic?
Many thanks, Sundew

PS. Seems to have a white arista, which is sometimes seen in Sciomyzids. Could this be a suiting family?

Ah! Right. Just some weeks ago I found it in Hungary and was very happy to have this family. And I forgot completely about it this time :o

Thanks to everyone who racked his brain, and especially to Paul who made the decisive statement. Another new family for me - wow! A new discovery every day...
