Can somebody identify this please? Photo taken on 6.03.06 at Simar Nature Reserve, Malta. Specimen is on 5mm graph paper for scale.

A male of the genus
Dilophus (Bibionidae). Maybe Theo knows more about the Mediterranean fauna?
