I am somewhat confused about this. Does it belog to the hoverflies? Other? ID possible? Hagen, NRW, Germany, alder marshland, 175msm, May 26th 2009

looks like a female Anasimyia transfuga to me, Syrphidae indeed.

Wing venation makes it clearly a Syrphid fly.

Looking through the net, it becomes probable, that Anasimyia transfuga might be a "red list" species in Northrine-Westfalia (D). Who knows for certain?
