This nice Empididae was yesterday at La Peņa, Huesca, NE Spain, 500 meters, in a zone of rocky cliffs with shadow and humidity (near a dam). Could it be identified?

Looking through the Gallery it seems to compare well with Empis (Xanthempis) punctata. But wait for an expert opinion.

A species of the Empis (Xanthempis) semicinerea complex. Not punctata, as that should also have a median black stripe on the greyish background.

Hi,
Most probably your pics belong to an undescribed species. Did you collect any specimens?
