Hello forum,

Today I found this Tabanidae in a wed wood in the south of the Netherlands (around Weert). Could it be Hybomitra arpadi or is it another species?

Greetings,

Arno

As you'd realized, arpadi is a bit rare and unlikely.

This seems to be the male of bimaculata.

Well, I didn't check how rare arpadi is. But I'm just as happy with a bimaculata, so many thanks Theo.
