I saw this in the 'Drents-Friese Woud', forest in North Netherlands. It seems to have much more extensive orange coloration than the
ornata I have seen in the dunes. Does this still fit withi the normal range of
ornata? (8 May)

Sorry, no collecting...
What struck me was, besides color, the different habitat. I know ornata from open dune habitat. This was in half open fir forest, good undergrowth of shrubs and herbs/moss. So I thought that either ornata has a very broad niche range, or it might be a different species.

Any frontal shot from the head or the tailshot from the tail, no matter how unsharp (within limits, of course) would help.
Otherwise....
