The Gallery :phas a photo of a male Hilara Note the dilated fore-tarsi diagnostic (see Glossary) for most males of the genus but not females.

Well, this is a female... Still, female Hilara (at least I think) never have feathered pennation on the legs.

Well the Title said Hilara? to which I responded. Now we all know what Empis pennipes and Hilara males look like. That way we all learn every day;). Note gallery promotion:p:p:p.
