Hi,
Some days ago I was in a woodland crossed by a brook and photographed a tiny insect that I thought to be a black wasp. The magnified photo on the screen revealed, however, a Syrphid. So the chances for ID might be much better!
Thanks for help, Sundew

Hi,

This is a very beautiful Neoascia meticulosa (formaly aenea)

points to look at:
1) no spots and a male
2) almost yellow tibia and tars 1 & 2

cheers,
